Solid Snake eyepatch Vs. Black Bulter eyepatch

I'm starting to wear makeup again, which might sound sad to the people who wear makeup because it's socially expected in their profession, but as someone who just likes painting on my face, it makes me very happy to have the energy to put into painting something that will be washed away in eight hours.

I've never been very good at applying false eyelashes, and the lack of depth perception isn't helping with that, but I'm enjoying the opportunity to practice. Plus, I don't have to get my eyeliner even when I'm wearing an eyepatch!

I don't normally like asymmetry in hairstyles, at least not my own, and I usually detest messy buns in semi-formal outfits, but I think that the way it echoes the overall asymmetry in wearing an eyepatch.
I think it's the pearl pins that really set it off.

Knave of Hearts eyepatch

Willow made me a velvet eyepatch.

I tried to dig out some of my black velvet clothes from high school but I seem to have gotten rid of most of them.

Today has been a long frustrating series of dealing with banks and doctors with a large ornamental petunia on my face.

I echoed the fullness of the pentunia with a lace cravat, tatted wristlets, and a petticoat under the Gunne Sax dress.

Now I'm matching my eyepatch to my outfits.

I've got to stop hurting myself. I got an infected tooth and somehow it spread to my face and now one eye won't blink. Nor will that side of the mouth open properly, which has made eating a trick.
At least I can rock an eyepatch, once I've sewn a giant petunia to it.

Just ignore Frobisher.

Picking out five skirts and sweaters at once pleased me so much that I'm off and doing it again.

This penguin is going to be hard to explain.

Flower crown

I got a flower crown from Willow Wanderer and it is really cozy and warm.
I didn't think it was really my style at first but this outfit is really cute.

Happy New Year

The smart and causual outfits worn on New Year's Eve and day.

Lace, Skulls, and it's not Hallowe'en, it's momento mori.

 Hairclips- Micheal's
Cameo- I bought it at a Pagan Pride, but the lace and pedant are sold in most craft stores.
Vest-Royal Bones
Shirt- WalMart's Hallowe'en section
Skirt- Hommert
Bloomers- Lolikats
Tights- I'm not sure, but similar ones can be bought at Guess
Boots- Mossimo

I am wearing two items that were being sold for Hallowe'en.
The hair clips have stripes and skulls on them, which clearly means that they are only suitable for Hallowe'en. When is weird, because I can't really imagine anyone buying these hairclips or this shirt and then only wearing it once a year. For one thing, you would want to actually wear a costume on Hallowe'en. Maybe people intend to wear them in the month leading up to Hallowe'en.
The shirt has Day of the Dead style skeletons and lace on them, which although it directly follows Hallowe'en is a totally unrelated holiday. I mean, you can celebrate and enjoy both, but that requires that you acknowledge that they are in fact two different holidays.
It's a bit like saying that Sainta Lucia day is an extension of Christmas. They're celebrated in the same season and I suppose there's nothing inherently wrong about enjoying two slightly different flavours of festivity one after the other.
(Although the Swedish don't generally have to worry as much about their culture being poorly represented)
I suppose that's it, though. The problem is that they're being treated as the same holiday, when they're not.

Perhaps it's just my own ignorance of the subject that makes me think the shirt's intended to be a Day of the Dead thing. It could just be skeletons in fancy clothes. I like to think that. I like skeletons in fancy clothes. Insert joke about the fashion industry liking skeletons in fancy clothes, too.

The vest also has a bones motif, in that there are crossed bones on the buttons. That's just the brand logo, and I'm fairly sure all that it's intended to represent is bones. I like it, it's sort of a modern interpretation of Momento Mori. Not to be confused with Mori Girl fashion. Oh, sweet lady in the earth. That's a brilliant idea for an outfit. I'll have to try that sometime.

I don't get it, maybe because I always dress a little flamboyantly, but this is not a costume, it's just an outfit with a lace and skulls theme. That can be worn anywhere, it's not a Hallowe'en thing, it's a style and not growing out of being a bit gothy thing.

I'm rambling. I guess the only point I have is that I like skulls, I like lace, try not to piss anyone off.

(Also, let's talk about the fact that this skirt does not techinically exist but I got bloomers under it so I guess it's okay.)

How Kittywitch dresses in the winter.

I wasn't scheduled to do this for another ten days, but seeing as it's already cold enough to snow, I'm dressing like this anyway, and I have two followers and two votes for "How many layers are you wearing?" I think I might as well make this post now.

Plus I forgot about the poll deadline and took the pictures today. This is a long, image heavy post so most of it is under a cut. By the way, if you are offended by multiple layers of underwear, the following post might be upsetting. Fair warning.

My dear man...

Here we see a sad little fangirl who only owns black desperately trying to look like the third Doctor.
So I didn’t have time to make a Halloween costume this year. So I pulled a ruffly shirt and a velvet jacket out of my closet. And felt damn pretty badass.
I so want to cosplay this properly, but velvet is so expensive… and surprisingly hard to find.

Companion Closetplay day 4- Susan Foreman

I've actually owned this sweater for years, but I've never worn it for a full day because it reminded me of someone who was both irritating and looked like hell in horizontally striped sweaters. However, in going through my wardrobe for companion closetplay, I realised Susan wore a very similar sweater on the show.

"I can't do this problem without the other two dimensions..."
